So Many Seeds, So Little Time

Every winter I'm attacked by a swarm of seed catalogs begging for attention.

January is prime time for seed shopping.  Here in the dregs of winter, I spend hours reading through seed catalogs, envisioning this summer’s garden in all its glory.

This year, I’m having trouble with the task, and I don’t know why.  Do I simply have too many options to choose from?  Is this winter just so cold that I can’t imagine that spring is really right around the corner?  Or maybe I miss having my big greenhouse to raise the plants–I was very sad when it collapsed in the snow storm last year and we replaced it with a much smaller greenhouse.

I don’t know why I’m so reluctant to make this year’s garden plans, but I do know that I have never waited until this late in the season to order my garden seeds for the year.  I used to try to get my seed shopping done before Christmas because it was so much more fun than shopping at the mall!
